Experience

With over 15 years of experience in accounting, finance, and tax, Daniel has worked with large, private family-owned companies with billion-dollar net worths. He began his career in 2000 as an intern for a top financial consulting firm, where he advanced through various roles:
  • Intern (2000)
  • Financial Planning Analyst (2004)
  • Senior Financial Planning Analyst (2005)
  • Vice President of Consulting (2017)
During his tenure, Daniel advised clients on multi-billion-dollar mergers, acquisitions, tax and estate planning, and investment strategy. He also served as a personal CFO for a prominent family office, managing over $500 million in assets. Daniel was a speaker at Family Business Magazine’s Transitions Conference, which hosts over 300 of the largest privately held companies in the U.S.

Small business owner

In 2008, after the financial crisis, Daniel founded Oakhurst Landscape Inc. as part of his early “side hustle” journey. Having grown up working for his father’s landscaping business, he learned the value of hard work and gained real-world entrepreneurial experience while balancing a full-time consulting career. This hands-on experience shaped his approach to working with small business clients.

Founding of Daniel Johnson Financial Services LLC

In 2020, Daniel shifted gears to support his family during a relative’s diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. At the same time, the COVID-19 pandemic led to increased challenges for small businesses. Seeing an opportunity to help, Daniel founded Daniel Johnson Financial Services LLC to provide expert accounting and financial services to small and medium-sized businesses.
